Rack depth: 1000 vs 1200 vs 1400 mm

Choose rack depth by your deepest device plus rear clearance for cabling and PDUs. 1000 mm suits network and shallow gear, 1200 mm is the general-purpose default, and 1400 mm is for deep servers, rear-mounted PDUs and heavy cabling.

What depth actually has to fit

A cabinet's external depth has to accommodate the front door, the equipment itself, rear cabling and vertical PDUs, and the rear door. Depth-adjustable mounting rails let you slide the equipment plane forward or back within that envelope, but the external depth sets the ceiling.

Do the mounting rails move within the depth?

On the DX-Series the four rails are depth-adjustable in 25 mm increments, so you can position the mounting plane precisely regardless of the external depth.
